4th wave? What were the first three?

The person from Sharp is quoted as saying: "The fourth wave of LCD technology is here..."

Would someone mind explaining what the first three waves were? Seriously.

3D Graphics
by blacksilver August 10, 2004 3:26 AM PDT
I've wondered for a few years why, when discussing '3D graphics' no one tells the whole story. When I hear someone tell me about this great new graphics card they just bought and it's 'awsome' 3D graphics, the first question I ask is which stereo graphics driver they are using. That's followed with their typical blank stare. They don't have a clue about 3D graphics. Why not? All graphics card manufacturers should explain what else is needed to view 3D graphics. None do.
