It's sleek and it's sexy, but still must contend with issues from price to typing speed and wireless realities.

want a apple version of the 10 pound swiss army knife. Don't know
if it's will be a hit but it's not for those of us who use a cell phone
as a phone.
Now let me explain why I am hesitant. I am the former owner of a Qtek 9000. It has everything the IPhone had and more ( full qwerty keyboard, WIFI GPRS, Video PHone ) ext. But after about 2 months of using it, I couldn't take it anymore. Whenever I went to answer a call it had a major delay from the time I pushed the talk button on the touch screen and from when the call was actually connected ( 2 secs + ). The OS was slow, and didn't respond as fast as I had hoped. One thing I realized was that people like the feel of a button. A touch screen is not a button. I should be able to switch songs via a button I can use without having to see it. This is why the IPOD was such a success, because it was a very simple User interface and the buttons had a distinct feel.
Even though the phone will be locked to cingular all it will take is someone to unlock their phone and it will easily work with any GSM service carrier. Once its unlocked you will be able to use the internet for only $6 a month at Tmobile for unlimited data transfer ( Tzones ) for those of you not in the know, Tzones is not just WAP, its the whole internet. Even though they try to tell people you have to pay for full internet access, you don't need to.
I would rather see the Handheld PCs come back into style ( nokia 9500, Jornada 720 ) or the german made Linux based phone by ROAD to finally come to market. I want a phone that can do everything I can do with my Laptop, phone, and SLR digital camera, and it must have a qwerty keyboard that I can type just as easily as my home computer. It must be quick, no delays in the User Interface. Until such a device exists I am holding off.

Even if you don't care or don't like them, theyre still there and it
makes the iPhone at least a little big innovative. You've gotta
give Apple a little credit: they had little to no experience in the
phone market: and came out with a stunning (looking- we'll see
on functioning) phone.
