Yay, more ways to have your TV. Well hopefully a few technologies win out and we won't have too many differents tech in the market at once.

I thought LCD stood for light continous diode, not liquid crystal display.

No, to the story and display technologies in general, the more the merrier! Sounds promising, too, even if expensive due to the differences in nanotube properties from the same batch, etc.
