Music Phones Outsell iPod
by john55440 August 27, 2006 11:52 AM PDT
"Most market researchers don?t count music phones in their tallies of the music player market. Still, Nokia says it sold 15 million music-enabled mobile phones between April and the end of June, compared to 8.11 million iPods for Apple."

people who bash c|net
by chaunceyo August 27, 2006 12:07 PM PDT
I am sorry but its completely stupid to bash c|net or accuse them of being bought out by MS because of a mere headline like this. The fact that apple has NOT brought a new ipod out, and we are still being drummed with ipod news on c|net should be evidence to that (Snakes on a Plane didn't have this much publicity hype) - or how about the fact that ipod has never left the top recommended mp3 players on c|net. Honestly now people... ipod is at the top as far as form meets functionality, and until someone comes up to take the title, every new device that has any potential will be a possible "ipod killer". Its like in basketball, every new stellar rookie claiming to be the new Michael Jordan.

c|net is NOT the consumer... yes consumers were probably very angry at the new ipod coming every 4 monthes, but c|net is a bunch of people living on the "cutting edge", always wanting to see new BEST thing out there. I don't blame them for that, and I commend them for attempting to review most of the gadgets that come out. Yes, yes they sometimes have some more bias opinions about things, or perhaps give a poor review here and there... BUT they also you give you the opportunity to correct them and chance to critize their performance.

*** Before I get bashing from other fanboys, yes there are great alternatives to the ipod, but lets face it, more ppl own an ipod than any other portable mp3 player.

And as far as offering more features, as long as they stay within the realm of music I am happy........ please god don't turn the ipod into a camera or phone at the cost of making it a sub-par mp3 player. And who doesn't like more support, lets be real here - who wouldn't like a mp3 player to play all formats? ***

who cares?

Who cares?

Not I, for none of the apple portable music player products sold meet my minimum specifications!

But then again, given how Apple Inc originally made extraordinary 400% percent plus profits for replacing dead battery packs on the original Ipods, fully explains the corporations attitude to all it's customers as lambs to be treated accordingly!

Choices!

You know this article speaks the truth

All innovation at Apple has ended. All those monkeys in Apple R&D
have been doing nothing and walking in circles for the past year -
inf act they scheduled their walking using Kiko. C|Net has once
again out scooped everyone

Obsessive behaviour

Is the additional exposure obtained by this compulsive and
reiterated iPod-bashing by CNET really compensate the total loss of
credibility generated by these series of journalistic pieces of crap?
Apparently so, hence, do not click this disinformation trash.

While Apple tends to be slow at making updates, IPOD products have been the only dependable systems I've purchased. Others have broken, died, had battery problems. but I agree with one comment about ITunes. They take forever to get some music available to download. A new popular or country song may not show up on ITunes for months...

I'm torn. Love my shuffle but don't like being dependant on ITunes to manage my song list.
