Merging with Dell or HP would be such a mistake.

Technical types really enjoy the phone under the Palm operating system. If Palm does not continue the Palm OS, someone will develop a new OS, a small chinese firm and techies will move...

Most technical types prefer Unix, Apple over Microsoft any day. In fact only non-techie
business types (who cheat more in business school as undergrads, good Microsoft usage) prefer the Treo 700.
