Ipod sound is not best sound
by kwillson December 27, 2005 10:42 AM PST
If you try some decent headphones you will see that ipod's sound is not the best. I have sony's in-ear $40 models and I would recomend creative, iriver and yes even the dell dj over the ipod. Ive tested all three with my headphones and shure e2 in-ears. Creative and Dell use soundblaster technology. It doesn't take a genius to realize those advantages. I have nothing against ipods. They have a better user interface than my iriver. It is crazy that there are other factors than the bitrate to produce good sound. Anyway I chose iriver based on sound first because that is the primary function of my mp3 player.

Bose? Best sound system? Is that a joke?
by faytlnd May 15, 2006 9:46 PM PDT
Thats a terrible argument considering that bose is known as one of the biggest jokes of the audio world. Go check ot htguide or avsforums and see what they say about Bose. They are overpriced, and overmarketed pieces of garbage. They pay for product placement at Best Buy, run infomercials, and price their speakers way too high, and make everyone believe they are good, when they are completely ripping you off.

NEWS FLASH: Sim Wong Hoo files patent for Hot Air!
by cjoe42 May 20, 2006 12:05 AM PDT
Funny that Creative had to wait until it had two terrible financial quarters to file this suit. After "declaring war on the iPod" and taking an ass whipping in the process, I guess he decided it is better to become a patent troll rather than an innovator. Rather than accepting second place in the MP3 market (which isn't at all a bad place to be), Mr. Hoo decided to attack Apple head on while not paying attention to his other rivals who have now dropped Creative to third place in market share. Opps!! Now he has to deal with a patent counter suit by Apple, loads of unsold inventory, and aggressive deep pocketed competitors on his heels who plan on further erroding his market position. Looks like Mr. Hoo needs to quickly file a patent on that commodity he seems to have plenty of, hot air!!
