Hosed If You Have A Laptop
by Stating November 10, 2005 10:21 AM PST
If you have a laptop with this problem and it's out of warranty you are hosed. It's very difficult to open up a laptop to check for this problem without breaking something, and a motherboard replacement will be very costly.

I was the first person to bring this subject in the public spotlight - see http://www.careyholzman.com for all the info starting from the beginning as I tried in vain to get places like news.com to carry this story years ago, long before badcaps.net existed.
