adding video is not on my wishlist. I just don't feel it suits the
iPod.
However, I do have a PSP, and I do use that for watching video.
It has a gorgeous, 4", hi-res (472x280) screen which is quite
tolerable to watch for short periods. (I find the attention span
for watching video is about 20 mins on a small device.)
There is free software available - "PSP Video 9" - which converts
all types of video (.mov, .wma, .avi, etc) into the MPEG-4 format
relatively quickly and syncs it with the PSP.
For example, to go from a movie trailer on the www.apple.com/
trailers/ website to PSP is around 5 mins, and they can be
queued and later transferred all at once.
I'm very happy with my iPod for music/podcasts, and PSP for
games/video.

Dollar Man" theme song now).
And in more colors.... or at least black.
Madonna iPod? Possibly. But an iPod Shuffle with a display
screen will be MUCH nicer.
As for watching video, I'd agree with Mika Taur that PSP certainly
has my vote for watching a couple of minutes of video (though,
I'd have to admit, that the Creative Zen Vision looks nice, too).
Personally, I'm hoping for a Shuffle with a screen.
mine just gave the best speculation of what will be the next iPod:
iPod Enema: Though the song capacity wll be quite tiny, the iPod
Enema will provide the most exhilirating music experience. Simply
inject the iPod Enema you know where and it vibrates the sonic
experience throughout your body.

no hard drive. I like watching the movies on UMD - great for
airplanes - but relying on the memory stick to house photos,
video, game content and whatever else you might have just isn't
a good option for the long term IMHO - neither is relying on 3rd
party software to encode and transfer video - Sony's already
proven they have no problem 'securing' the PSP's OS.
Sony's PSP is great but it lacks the polished digital media
functionality that itunes/ipod provide.
- yeah i have both too.. however..
