There isn't any guarantee that the lead Apple enjoys with the iPod will last. What is an "xobox"? Shouldn't that be Sony is in deep water?
Sony wasn't sleeping, they were doing what they have always done, trying to impose their malformed vision of what the consumer wants without actually asking the consumer/market.
- They should throw in Ogg, too

- Now they're embracing a nice, fairly open format MP3, they could easily move on and support the completely free Ogg Vorbis. The effort to do so would be minimal, as the standard is published with complete source code. Has better sound quality for the same size, like Atrac. Would be a very appealing move to hardcore geeks, not annoying anyone in the process.
