Everyone's lambasting Apple for the stock "fiasco" aren't they. Well, it certainly is a screw-up, but...
1. MacWarehouse and other 3rd party cendors still has some stock.
2. According to MacMall's head of Apple Product Line (as per a sales associate), new iMac availability is set for August 16th. We'll see...

My comments are more in response to the second part of this three part article. After being a PC user for many years and then switching to a Mac about three years ago I can say without hesitation that I would rather have hot burning coals shoved in my eyeballs before I would switch back to a PC. I still use PC's all the time for certain tasks, but I would never consider using them full time again. The author's "ominous" contention that OS X is about to be suddenly swamped with security problems and virus attacks is just ludicrous. OS X is infinitely more stable, secure, and user friendly than XP and to try to suggest otherwise is just plain false. If the new iMac is being held up by a shortage of a certain component that is not Apple's fault and people will just have to wait. I fail to see what the big deal is here. The current iMacs may run out in which case users should consider an eMac or grabbing one of the now discontinued G4 towers. I don't think people are going to run screaming from Apple just because the new iMac is a little late to market. There are plenty of other Apple products to choose from and I would be willing to be that most Apple customers will cut Apple some slack on this one.
