The electronics giant will open more stores, mind the small to medium-size business market, and broaden its Vaio brand in an effort to beat up rivals.

Sony shops in the UK are rubbish
by March 31, 2004 6:41 AM PST
Every in the UK knows that sony stores are good for window
shopping, but then you go elsewhere you go elsewhere to buy
because you can ***always*** buy sony products cheaper on the
web, or through the big electronic retail outlets such as Dixons.
Therfore I think they'll have a tough time making a success of it
over here...

Sony Support not so great
by March 31, 2004 11:10 AM PST
So far, my dealings with Sony Support have to be rated as poor. You have to go through a lot a validation to even find out if patches are available. Online support requires a series of emails or postings. All in all, very frustrating to deal with. Not sure I would like to have my company deal with those issues.

Sony store in Chicago
by March 31, 2004 9:34 PM PST
Sony's strategy is to expand it's retail outlet presence??? That's odd, as the Sony store in Chicago has recently closed. I for one was extremely disappointed to see it go. It was an excellent place to check out their products...
