High end?
by volterwd July 14, 2004 2:36 PM PDT
I got my computer 2 years ago with 512 ddr ram 1.6 p4 and i upgraded to a 128 Radeon 8500LE... the only game i couldnt play (well) was Generals which needs about 1.7Ghz Cpu, and that i could sort of play. Some people need to redefine high end... my brother got a comp with printer moniter 256 ddr 64 ram geforce vid 1.2 celeron which could play both those games for 125$ cdn... i wouldnt call that high end... and that can play most games... in particular the ones listed...

In all fairness, you really have to look at games coming out today, to see what this article is talking about.
I hate to buy new AGP cards every time a games pop up
by lizardo_manson July 15, 2004 4:57 PM PDT
I built my machine last Xmas. An Intel D865PERL board with 800 FSB, 4 memory DDR slots (up to 2GB/400MHZ)with a P4 2.6 Ghz 800 FSB HTT, XFX Nvidia 5200 256 MB RAM.

I've played a lot of games. The other day downloaded Halo: Combat Evolved demo and the game stuter and the fps is not so good. Im thinking a new AGP card may be the fix, but sadly i dont have the budget company want you to have so i stuck with that card till prices drop, specialy the Radeon 9800.
