Sony's camcorders had this problem a few years ago when they shipped their NightShot filter... They have since modified the filters but the ones with the unmodified filters were in "hot" demand for a while.

Sorry Charlie, but the infrared technique has nothing to do with heat vision. The whole thing works because the filter cuts out all but the infrared spectrum of light. The reason you see through peoples close is that light waves in the infrared spectrum can penetrate certain types of fabric (spandex is one). The light bounces off human skin and the result is a sort of xray vision.

Again, it has nothing to do with heat. I kind of thought that a tech writer would have a little understanding of technology. Maybe you should give back your last paycheck for being an idiot

Blame Hollywood

Blame Hollywood for the mix up.. for years they have been putting out shows and movies that use the term "Infrared" to describe thermal imaging technology.

Though you are correct that he was mistaken it is understandable considering the confusion present in common knowledge of the topic.

In fact the misinformation has become so widespread it has become acceptable to use the terms interchangeably.

In everyday life, the heat radiation falls in the Infrared spectrum.

a sample of picture (add on hardware)X-ray cam has been posted here ypu can download the sample pic taken from 6600(modif to x ray)shows inside ur clothes,but only syntehtic,original silk material can see through chick clothes.....(not working to nylon, catoon, jeans material).
if you use this x ray cam in the swimming pool hemm...feel like in heaven,cause 90% bikini or swimm suit is from synthetic material.
