This looks like a fluff piece paid for by some 'search industry trade group' if there were such a thing. I guess its just Cnet looking for stuff to right about to get people to pay attention to them. Endeca will not be anything, I predict Microsoft will buy them in a year or two and absorb their tech and put it to no real good use.

At least Cnet stopped righting about that stupid Second Life acting like it was the wave of the future.

No, Anoox is

You want the next or better search engine than Google, then try Anoox. It is better because:

1- Anoox search results are Powered by the Knowledge of the People, that is YOU and me. This is in contrast to Google or Yahoo whose results are rather mysteriously generated by machines. They explain it better here:

2- Anoox is a community based (not profit concerned) business so cost of Advertising on anoox is like 90% less than Google or Yahoo. WOW!!

Anoox is simply the revolution in search engine business & value. But I guess since Anoox makes Advertising costs so much lower, that is why Big media is not covering them. But it sure is the underground favorite top search engine.

Also anoox has the most awesome Affiliate program. I can attest to that since we are an Affiliate of Anoox and we are making about $3K per month after about 4 months of being one.

I like Anoox too, but

I like Anoox alot, specially the fact that its search results are democratically formed by the People. But I doubt that Anoox can over take Google since the Big media is pounding into people's head
every day, for last few years, how great Google is and Big media is not covering Anoox at all
exactly because cost of Advertising on Anoox is so low due to their not for profit biz model.
And the majority of the "people are sheep", they will do what the Big media tells them.
So I hate to be the "party pooper", even though Anoox may be the better search engine for all
the reasons you listed, majority of the people will do what the Big media tells them. All you
have to do is to look at the War on Iraq or the iPhone, like good little sheeps most people will
do (think) what Big media tells them. So I am afraid until Big media wants to, Google will the
reigning search engine King.
