At best it's a silly distraction; at worst it's a stage for self-indulgent blather, and I don't care what you had for lunch.![]()

Let me know your thoughts.
i thought it was useless until i joined. i am now in the loop with dj's all over the world and who are also in my genre. not only do i learn what songs are goin over in what part of the world every night... but my friends post url's that i can follow to download their latest songs. when one of my friends is playing in another city, i can search their name and find out how they did. i'm so locked in on what is goin down in the world wide dance scene. it's also interesting to find out the personalities of some of the people making the music i listen to.
it's way easier to promote parties now and i am on top of all the afterparties that jump off after the clubs close. so for some one like me... it's a very valuable tool.
Ha, reminds me of this funny Fail Whale T-shirt i saw here:

Of course, if you follow people on Twitter whose comments or tweets are inconsequential, than no, you're not going to be satisfied long-term. But, if through the recommendations of others, you find those select few whose updates actually enrich or contribute to your life, then you'll be on board for awhile.
Don't let narrow-minded thinking discourage you from exploring something new. If you're looking for the same old, same old, then that's exactly what you'll find. But, if you are ready to meet new people, or have insight into other people's experiences and wisdom, then Twitter might be the life changing tool you've been looking for.
Go out there and explore.
