Bell's copper to the home

Having just experienced 5-days of being a ping-pong ball between SBC's Advanced Solutions (data) and their line company to correct another outside line problem, I'm switching to a cable fiber-to-the-home solution. SBC's lines (the tech claimed a software switch problem), coupled with the two-company-one-umbrella "not-my-problem" syndrome adds up to less-than-desirable- reliability and customer service.

Verizon's salvo on cable TV

James Penhune, an analyst with Strategy Analytics, said:

"The biggest challenge for the phone companies in offering a TV service is figuring out how to compete in a market that is already very well-served by cable and satellite,....They have to give users a reason to switch to them."

Are you kidding me!!! How naive can this "analyst" be. The cable companies, and to a certain degree, the satellite companies, have been sticking it to their customers for years because they have no "real" competition. When the phone companies add video services, we should see better pricing and better customer service because the cable companies will finally have some very deep-pocket and agressive competition.

IT'S ABOUT TIME WE HAVE ANOTHER PLAYER

It's about time other company's want to come in the market. My cable company cable and internet has had problems with picture quality, slow internet and no one has been able to fix it for years now. My internet phone does nothing but fade, click and more. I welcome a company with new optics or cables. My cable, internet. and phone are of bad quality and I'm paying over $200.00 a month???? There was no no else to turn to and they had a monopoly for years. I welcome any new company with open arms. God Bless our country and troops-signed Anthony Creta Jr. Centereach, New York 11720

I have to commend the bosses and their crews that came to my house to correct these problems that I was experiencing. They were concerned, courteous, knowledgeable, experts, quick, hard working, highly qualified and they fixed the problems I was experiencing.

I can’t thank those nice people that came to my house enough but what I do promise them and I’m a person of my word I can promise you this, that this letter will go places you never dreamed of. You know who you are, you took pride in your work, you didn’t give up and you made it happened as you promised me. Again, Thank you from all of my heart.
