Read the paper! Every day it read such and such a religious branch did such and such. This is like saying th Catholics blew up the Baptist Church. Thy may all be Islam, but they take their small religious differences very seriously.
At least they did in Northern Ireland. Catholics vs. Protestants... It would help to actually learn about these things. Religion is almost always just a pretext.
I feel especially secure knowing the CIA team charged with finding him has been disbanded.
***?!
Cheap shot?
No.
Imagine if our 130,000 odd troops in Iraq were actually going after al Qaeda (not just the ones inspired by our occupation of Iraq).
But with a populace that (a) believes Saddam had WMD, and (b) fighting the new terrorists in Iraq somehow stops the al Qaeda cells that were never in Iraq, what's the point in exercising common sense?
If Bush hadn't spent nearly 50% of his time prior to 9/11 for vacation, he could have connected the dots. He actively ignored warnings from not only the Clinton administration but his own intelligence community! That's a heck of a job he did.
We deserve him though. Elect a draft dodger (legal, but still a dodger) and you can't expect to get a competent Commander in Chief.
The current government didn't do their work. For that fact, it is irrelevant if the previous governments didn't do their work properly, either. Anybody with a brain would understand that. Or do you try to blame the first US government under George Washington for today's issues??? That's apparently your level of thinking: "Blame everybody else, just not the current government, because I am such a fanboy of the current government..."
when are these guys gonna get brought up on charges if they keep ignoring the laws? why does the federal court system have to keep reminding them that we have a constitution? can i run to the courts for a ruling everytime i ignore the law? if the court says i broke the law, can i just go on about my daily routine like this administration does? why do i keep asking rhetorical questions?
Judge Taylor is absolutely correct in striking down the NSA's spy program. It totally violates our rights basic right to privacy. This is the kind of thing one would expect in countries like Iran or China where censorship and internet policing is common, but we are supposed to be a country that allows it's citizens to their right to privacy. At this moment, I'm afraid to even surf the web with out using some kind of privacy software like what Anonymizer has. Companies like Anonymizer have software that allows a person to surf the web privately, which is a good thing, but up until recently, I never thought I would have to use it myself. Anonymizer gives out there software as an anti-censorship solution to those who live in countries with very stringent censorship laws (like Iran and China), yet we seem to be on par with these same countries because our basic rights to privacy have been violated. (Go to www.anonymizer.com to get there solution or go to http://zidanchun.com/ to read about their anti-censorship solution.) I'm just really disappointed and afraid for the future of our country and I hope more people stand up to these injustices, just like Judge Taylor.
