I think the issue comes down to cost. I recently wanted to upgrade to a smart phone. I would like to have the iphone, but its too expensive and AT&T is a racket with their service. So i stuck with sprint and PAID for the BBerry Curve 8330. My plan is almost half of what AT&T's a la cart BS phone service is. That is why i own a blackberry. It comes down to cost, and honestly, im pretty happy with my phone and am not even really jealous of iphone users anymore

Lah dee dah. I had a Curve before I bought my iPhone. The Curve was good... for a BlackBerry. The iPhone trumps it in (almost) every way. In a big way.

Curve users are missing out. Kudos to Blackberry, though!

( aggressive "buy one, get one free" promotion ) buy one get one free at $99.99, perfect for cheap and tasteless people.

Check out apple's announcement on Jun 9. 2 new products coming out for Verizon wireless.

Most simple way of saying it:

iPhone 3g sold ridiculously fast. It went in having an established userbase, and i believe most people who bought it did so in the first few months. Most people are holding off in 1st quarter/2nd quarter because they know a new product is coming.

If Blackberry is such a good phone, lets see who wins Qt.3/Qt.4 this year. Ill bet my shiny new iPhone 32gb on it.

I still luv my iPhone, since the very first one was launched! I have a blackberry aka crackberry for work but i will still use my iPhone over it. Can't be the slim and stylish design and the creativity you get from this phone.

3 of the top 4 SmartPhones ! No wonder their stock keeps climbing to the dismay of Apple.
Those Canadians are good people. I don`t have a BlackBerry but I`m all for them doing well.
BTW...Red Wings taste like chicken ! Ducks in 6.

Amazing how all the fanbois have an excuse of why the iPhone was beat and can't just accept the facts for what they are. No ifs ands or buts apply to this scenario. It was Jobs' choice to release on only one carrier. And if people wanted an iPhone instead of a BB, they would've bought one and not gotten into a 2 year contract - which just limits there options. Why would they do that if they were planning on getting an iPhone when the new iPhone is supposed to be coming out soon.

Just accept it bois!!!

There?s been a lot of hype about the Palm Pre, and as we get closer to June the questions about it get more frequent. Here?s some of the more popular questions that I?ve encountered and am able to answer.

The backup feature, does it cost anything more?

Nope, it?s all included for free as a part of the service provided by Palm included with your Pre.

What happens to my phone when it?s in USB Mode?

All calls are routed to voicemail when the Pre is in USB Mode. Slight downer, I know ? but how often are you really gonna have the Pre in USB Mode? And even then, not more than a couple minutes @ a time.

What IM services will the Pre support for real-time status indicators?

Google Talk (GTalk) and AIM at launch. Do you really know anyone without a Gmail address?

In the Calendar, can I choose my own colors for the appointments?

Yes! it?s easily selectable, or can sync with your Outlook category colors with Exchange.

What about the web browser, can I disable cookies?

Yep, it?s an option in the Web Preferences.

How do I get the calendar to do the cool ?compress? when displaying?

Simple! it just has to be a block of time that?s 2 hours or more.

Can you have multiple IM conversations going at the same time?

Yes, the possibilities are limitless ? talk to everyone, share the Pre love!

Office 2007 ? Any issues?

Nope. Go ahead, tell your boss about it, and bring it to work. Welcome to life with the Pre ? it just works!

Can I use Pictbridge (wirelessly sending pics to a printer)?

There?s not a profile for it yet. Hang in there, grasshopper.

With the new webOS, what about virus protection?

The core is not open, and isn?t subject to any viruses, in other words, you?re covered!

What about Calltones?

Would you expect any less? It?s a network feature, so they?re 100% supported, no problems.

Can I save music as a ring tone for my Pre?

Sure, customize it all you want.

Family locator ? can I track my son with his Pre?

While it?s great you?d get a Pre for your son (umm, sure!, lol), you won?t be able to track lil Timmy with it just yet using Family Locator.

Can I take videos with my Palm Pre?

Not at launch, but hang in there as great things are on the way, and as the Palm Pre uses the webOS, updates are just a gesture away!

Can I send pictures as a text message?

Using MMS, of course. You can?t however crop pictures yet, so be aware of any size limitations the receiving person may have with their device or carrier, or adjust the camera settings.

That?s all for now! Don?t forget about the folks over at SprintGurus, where you can discuss not only these Palm Pre FAQs, but anything Sprint related. I do monitor and reply to the comments here on the blog as time permits, but there?s a great community of people there that are very knowledgeable, and if you?re looking to discuss Sprint or the Pre, it?s the place to be!

Both units are very nice. The monthly data rates are what really makes the difference. AT&T needs to wake up.

for one they did not surpase sells because of the 2 for 1 sale..the surpassed with the Curve sales. period.. Also I have the I phone and Have had treo's and windows based smart phones.. I-phone is like a Apple computer you have the fanatics and Kudos on for creating and publishing and overall stability. but, Rim I have also...and I have th 8900 Curve, yes I had the prior 8300 series.. I love the reliability of Rim period. hands down no match.. but when It comes to flashy phone and lots of apps yes I give it to
I-phone.. also I like the rates better with T-mobile VS my other Carriers ATT and Sprint. So enjoy what you have... Its about choices.. Thanks, The Rev.

lol rumors are wrong. to make but now its 174 almost as cheap as the g1 the storm cost 203 to make the storm i mean comon the storm on how slow it is due to rims poor programing skills is superior to the iphone in pretty much every way (on paper that is) and its a shame that apple zealots get ripped off and try to justify to why they get their pockets pwned i just dont get it but lol i guess thats just one of the great mysteries of the world.

No offense but i think some of you are taking all this too seriously. Different people like different things, that doesn't make it right or wrong, just different. Now, this is my PERSONAL opinion. I use 2 phones a all times. I have a business phone and my personal phone. I use data and voice on both and use them a lot too. I had a HTC and a Nokia N95 and decided it was time to upgrade. With all the iphone craze i thought i had to get it (i love gadgets). I recently got the new iphone 32 Gb. It was fun for the first week to check it all out. It was definately different from what i had been using. For a change i decided to get the Blackberry Curve 8900 as my other phone. Originally i was using the iphone as the business phone but soon realised that for what I needed, the Blackberry was a lot more adequate as a business phone. Now, i do not want to upset anyone here and as i said before, this is my personal opinion, the bottom line for ME was tha the iphone is fun but definately not the best phone around. I have now given the iphone to my 17 year old brother that will make a lot better use of it as he just wants to watch videos and listen to music. I am using the blackberry for work and went back to my Nokia N95 fo personal. To me, the Nokian N95 is a much better phone than the iphone, but they are very different. I think theiphone is overated mostl because it was something new and different but i don't think the craze will last much longer as there are better other phones coming out now. Again, it is what is best for you really.
