Will this enable a "lost" iPhone to be located by the owner?

"The company plans to launch software called Latitude on Wednesday that lets mobile phone users share their location with close contacts."... And Google. Sheesh people, how stupid can you get. Yup, we want the biggest company on the planet keeping tabs on people. Yup, that sounds great. Fantastic.

How well will this work when you pull the battery out of your phone?

Why was my first thought when reading this article "1984"?

At least until now I was an only child. Now I have a Big Brother!

LOL! Why is everyone affraid of this?? If you don't want to use it the article CLEARLY states that you HAVE to enable it yourself. If you DO enable it you can CONTROL what people see and what they don't. LIke someone up there said if your worrying about the government coming to track you down...they already can. On a side note, why are ALL of you worried about that in the first place? it's only an invasion of privacy if your dumb enough to install it, agree to it, and then BROADCAST the information yourself. I don't see how this could EVER be intrusive since your the one WHO HAS TO AGREE AND INSTALL IT, and then PUT YOUR INFORMATION ON IT!!!!
