I'm not a fan of Palm phones, they're jam packed with just too many bells and whistles, and unless you have incredibly tiny hands the keys are awkward. Less really is more, Palm.

Does anyone care?! I don't know about the rest of you but after having a Palm Treo 600, and waiting for ages just to get a 700P (3G) phone with software from the stone ages who cares. How many times did my 700P lock up? Surfing the Web was really painful and we won't talk about the aplication support. Remember the pain of waiting for MS office sync software for each release? Palm is horrible with updates and CNet even ran a article that the 3 party software was now free. Palm is just about dead. I was waiting for the Linux version like an idiot but that was replaced by the iPhone 3G. No wonder they are in financial hardship.

This a Windows Mobile Treo, so at least the software is modern. But you're right, they need to get their own OS up and running, and soon.

Windows mobile... a clunky interface with design inconsistencies. I got bored and moved on before the video finished.

Holy buckets. WiFi? GPS? Standard USB connector? Standard 3.5mm headphone jack? ... You mean it almost comes close to the standard feature every other WinMo device has had for years?

Okay, I know it's not April Fools. Who are these people and what have they done with Palm?

The negativity towards Palm and WM is really getting old. I've been using WM for some time and have very few complaints.

If and when the iphone works on Verizon or has anywhere near the high speed data coverage they offer and when it allows tethering for inet access from any blue tooth enabled computer, it just might be worth considering over the treos. In the meantime Apple is just playing catchup.

Yes, I'd like to see the new Treo with a larger screen and browser, maybe a 3 Mpixel camera, but the programs, music and complete capabilities are just fine. I'm a Macbook Pro user and would love to have the iphone interface but that doen't make up for the poor AT&T coverage with reasonable throughput.

Palm the OS may be dead...but their SmartPhone hardware is selling like hotcakes , thanks to WinMo. Palm provides what most consumers want in a SmartPhone for very little dinero. Who would have thunk ?( "Thunk" used with the permission of NASCAR)

They've certainly taken the right step in design as this looks much, much better than any of their previous offerings. Again it's still limited by the implementation of the OS but there are quite a number of people who won't bother to comparison shop so they should be fine even tho they are now the #3 smartphone company (excluding Nokia since I really wouldn't consider most of their phones truly "smart" in the form of the BB, iPhone or Treo).

I currently use a Treo 680. The Palm hardware is great (except for the camera) but then the OS is outdated but then wouldn't want to risk carrying a Win based phone. Will wait for Palm to release a Palm OS, Symbian or Android (linux) based phone with the Treo Pro features. I would also like to see an easy way of accessing the Calls and SMS Database once they are archived.

I also use the 680. I like what the new pro offers, but am scared of the Windows environment. Really am interested in buying, but the cost is important as well as whether 3rd party applications will allow it to sync with lotus notes.
