Cisco and it's partners only enable IPTV over private networks
by alansegal November 18, 2005 1:43 PM PST
The world has changed, but companies like Cisco are still looking to enable IPTV over a Private network!

Does this purchase help them sell more of their core business products?

What is amazing - the markets and content companies are looking at global video distribution using the public network that gives viewers instant access to video streams, how will private networks with limited customers and download to watch models survive?

very interesting times...

I would like to see an all in one bill where all
this stuff was piped in over one line. It would
save taxpayers allot of money. Also spread
through the world

telcos and cablecos are toll collectors.... and I bet Cisco is rewarding them quite handsomly.. oh well, if you cant beat em' just get in their way?

this behavior creats whirlpools.... its the commoditizing of tech.. hopefully, Cisco can find better uses for the revenue and make platform open enough and worthy of everyones input.. though this seems to be some peoples greatest fear
