Wherefore Art Thou, Gigabit?
by peartree June 21, 2004 4:51 PM PDT
All this fuss over 10-GigE has obscured the fact there are NO Wi-Fi broadband routers with gigabit ports. Where are they? We've got tons of motherboards with gigabit ports, but no consumer-level gogabit routers, switched, or hubs.

Gigabit for WiFI???? Whatever for?
by June 22, 2004 4:53 AM PDT
WiFi today only transmits at up to 54Mbps (27Mps sustained
throughput), Fast Ethernet will more than do the job. Want cheap
GigE switches? Go check out Linksys. Saw an online store selling
the 24-port model for less than USD500.
