Benefit?

This might give a short term shot in arm to Y! and E due to cost synergies but ultimately this will provide very little benefit to the end user.

Wow...a better and more effiecient way to bombard the user with ads...

Whatever works...

Yahoo and Ebay have proven business models, and they make profit $$$... Advertising is a big thing now and into the future, whatever works.

You do whatever you can to be one step ahead. Yahoo already said that they would never merge with Microsoft, and Google hates them too.

So far I see this as a positive.

is a war of a global scale brewing...
by i_made_this May 25, 2006 7:18 PM PDT
...or has the war already informally started?

This month alone, Yahoo announces massive new strategic partnerships with Microsoft and now eBay. Things are proceeding apace...

Microsoft and its allies on one side ready 2 defend its turf?

Google and its allies (Mozilla, Sun, Linux, AdAware etc etc) on the other side ready 2 rumble?
