Let me get this straight. Some unknown company made a desktop client software that is supposed to challenge Google and they want people to pay for it?

I get first dibs on their office chairs once they file for bankruptcy, which should happen any day now.

I believe you mean Karelia Software (who has since licensed Watson
to Sun). I had the same thought when I first saw this; I also
wondered why CNET's article doesn't mention the fact that this
software costs a significant amount per year?

Early Windows Longhorn prototypes had it.

Windows Vista might have it out of the box.

Google released one for free.

Then this. And it's not free. What the... ?!
