The story says IE is broken... not Netscape. So for all the people
wondering avbout Microsoft's dirty tactics and why their Netscape
works..... read the story again.... it is IE that is broken after a
Netscape instal....

But did the Netscape guys either -

A) not test enough to find the problem or

B) find the problem & say "what the hell, lets release anyway & break IE" ?

That seems to make them either incompetent, negligent or malicious.

Microsoft had always had a problem with XML. The other one is codec packs. From the gamer's perspective I had more problems with Microsoft games than all other games I played.
Either XML or Codecs. I'm not sure but I suspect that if they wanted they could prevent these incompatibilities. If everyone were using standards we'd have none of this.

That can be said for any company that makes an OS.

Send your money to Steve Jobs, Linus Torvalds, Bill Gates...

LOL! Use the os/browser that suits your needs and wait for the smoke to clear and see who the winner is.

Better yet, send you money to me! :D

How Can I Uninstall IE?

and it's obvious.... just ditch Windows. Either install linux... or
better yet... get a Mac.
You can't

Uninstalling IE is a no-go with Windows in its current incarnation. The best you can do is fix your file associations and delete the icon from your menus and desktop. Beyond that, however, IE is required by the system.

Whoa! MS is saying uninstall Netscape?

Well no, it turns out it was something mentioned on an employee's blog. Have some higher standards CNET! Just because you are reporting on tech doesnt meant you dont have to have journalistic standards!

I used to like Microsoft, but that was when I was brainwashed. I mean, Microsoft's customer service is OK, but it's terrible with a T at security. Instead of criticising Netscape, IE producers should just work on their own product and make it more secure. I just love Firefox and I'm thinking of getting Netscape, and like that I'll be able to dump IE in the trash can forever.

if something breaks in your program after another program is
simply installed, that's the fault of the programmers who
programmed obviously flawed software. for all the money that ms
pours into it's programmers you'd think they could at least figure
out how to release slightly less buggy software.

How to uninstall Netscape (any version)
by m1m9t4h2 March 1, 2007 4:22 AM PST
Clicking on the various links brought back my current plight in Microsoft Office 2002: if I click on a link in an e-mail message, I am told ?This application has failed to start because jrt3240.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.?

Right?jrt3240.dll is nowhere on the machine, nor is pr3240.dll, which it also asks for sometimes. Explorer used to work just fine until I also installed Netscape (I?ve been asking myself why I did that, with no useful answer). Well, I thought that removing Netscape might help, so I went to Control Panel?s Add or Remove Programs to get rid of Netscape. Was it there in the list? Nope. So now what? Where do I get these DLLs, or how do I make Explorer not want them. I?ve tried both Repairing Office and Re-installing it from scratch. No good.

I suppose I could use a different e-mail program, one which might let me click on a link and get somewhere, but I?ve grown really fond of Outlook?s system of folders, calendars, contacts, spam filters, etc.

Thanks for any help you can give.
