I'm happy with this ruling. I'm not a file-swapper, myself; however, I didn't want to see BIG entertainment win this argument.

When I see celebrities drive up to their phony awards shows in busted & rusted '68 Beetles, I'll cry for them then. lol

Agreed that no celeb is hurting for money, in fact when there are so many commoners out of work and cannot afford to make even a decent living I do not empathize with these crybabies...long live P2P!!

Heyyy idjit... The court said the "software" was legal not sharing copyrighted material such as songs. If you want socialism where you get everything cradle to grave from government, move to France. We here still in the U.S. value the rights of what people make to sell for a living. Not all even most are not wealthy. If you want music that you don't own other than sharing from a friend or two,... GET a JOB! If it was your creation you'd be pissed too if someone stole it and you never saw a dime. THINK ABOUT IT!

I thought this was interesting..."clamp down on anarchic peer-to-peer networks" So now when a company looses money on a copyrighted work it anarchy? What bull...

Companies just need to accept the fact that all business that deal with copyrighted items like music, movies, software, eBooks, etc. is going to have some theft. It is built in to their business model otherwise they would have went belly up.

It is unresonable to try an get laws and such that is going to put a 100% end to this type of theft. All that is going to do is **** of consumers and make them steal more. What they need to be concentrating on is operating a business with products and services that are affordable, easy to use and offer the consumer a decent amount of rights to use what they by in a fair and reasonable fashion. Only thing will the slow and keep the theft to a managable minium. If they keep going like they are people will just stop buying their products and start massive stealing until the company does go out of business.

Consumers are tired of being treated like dirt and robbed blind by these companies that want our money but offer nothing buy headache in return.
