Did comments by Mad Money host on market manipulation lend credence to an executive's claims of a Wall Street conspiracy?

Patrick Byrne
by solrosenberg March 28, 2007 8:08 PM PDT
Patrick Byrne is just another dot-bomb CEO who can't get over the fact he can't party like it's 1999 any more. "Let's sell crap at a loss on the Internet." Gee, what an original idea. His only real beef with the short sellers is that they were driving the stock to it's true value ($0) before he could dump all of his shares. His company has never turned a profit and never will. Kill it already.

C'mon get real...

There is some truth to Cramer's comments. However, its a stretch for Cramer's comments to Byrne's allegations.

Byrne screwed things up. Its an ok and proven business model to buy a surplus of a product and sell it at a discount. (OddLots anyone?)

But unless you can keep your costs (transactual and overhead down) and your margin's up, you're going to get killed.

Also unless you can fulfill your orders, you're going to lose customers and business.

So don't say that $0 is the "true value".

It over simplifies the issue and ignores the bigger picture.
The press is a corporate arm and completely malleable

The press is a corporate arm and completely malleable. They can be fed all manner of bogus info and are. Look at the Bush administration. Wall Street, too. Trillions of dollars in hedge funds and other financial vehicles. These people are all manipulative and naked short selling and other activity should be investigated. But won't be because the richer need to get richer.

Cramer's Video still available to the Public. Must See Video!
by rvac106 March 29, 2007 8:41 AM PDT
While the Street has been effective in removing Jim Cramer's infamous video from You-Tube, the clip in question is still available from their own site,

http://videoplayer.thestreet.com/?clipId=1373_10329438&channel=Cramer+On+Demand&puc=&ts=1174686551750&bt=NS&bp=WIN&bst=FF&biec=true&format=flash&bitrate=300

Paste this in your browser address window, and view it for yourself. Then, notify the SEC that they are being cuckolded, at the expense of Main Street investors. (That would be US!)
