I agree with your observation. There are some morons in CNET who think that companies survive because of the 'great innovative' works of a bunch of VPs with bloody MBA. You may find a lot reports like that (Microsoft loosing some marketing guys, Sun loosing VP of cafeteria etc).

Google is not built by marketting guys with MBA. There won't be any impact on Google because of this 'unknown' guy's departure.
