This is absurd. Google is the new Microsoft or IBM. How is youtube different from google video. Why dont they just compete? I predict to be the equivilant of some of the absurd cisco purchaces some years ago.

Competition...

YouTube will continue to operate as it has in the past. Google will continue to offer it's competing services. This is not (yet) a merger of the products and services of these two companies.

Moving forward they will share new developments in the online streaminv video market. For now things remain pretty well unchanged so users and investors in both companies should not be too worried.

Google must be in the hands of clueless MBAs. That's the only way this deal could have gone down. YouTube must be laughing all the way to the bank. What an embarrassment for the once mighty Google!

Google and YouTube

With most of the content on YouTube being copyrighted, Google may be facing some big challenges ahead to legally own much of the material they acquired.
