- I can see their argument...

- I manage several websites and my revenue stream is dependant on both Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing's programs. Google AdWords has become more and more unpredictable, competitive and obscure on how they rank websites. While this story discussed the Pagerank feature, if they are primarily dependant on AdWords, the pageranks shouldn't be much of a factor as this has more to do with organic search results. But Google's newer method of listing sites in AdWords has become very questionable. Not only do you have to pay a high cost-per-click on keywords, but if you want you ads to show up on the search network, you have to use all the right wording in your ads and make sure the landing pages do the same. This has made optimization much more time-consuming and one can never tell if you have make any changes for the better because it takes Google a month before they review your listings again. In the meantime, I have found Yahoo Search Marketing much more profitable and productive, although they have issues of their own. But I definately agree that Google is starting to squeeze out the little guy with all the new hoops one has to go through in order to make sure their web site is seen.
