Ah... The smell of...

Stupidity and greed. Yet, consumers keep right on buying these companies junk. I guess they can't get enough of that golden shaft. Lemmings off a cliff, it's amazing and scary to see.

I agree - with the greed part....

And I can't remember the last time I bought a CD. Nor will I buy
anymore. I have enough legally purchased music to last me the
rest of my life.

I'll be darned if I'll pay these jacka$$e$ to make millionaires out
of people like Britney Spears, who basically have no talent, and
file lawsuites against people who download a couple of songs.

Waste of time and money

The genie is out of the bottle and lawsuits wont put him back in. The techology is out there and people will use it People are no longer satisfied with buying a CD with say 13 tracks of junk and one good selection. Legal action may slow down but wont stop file sharing. The artist must be paid but a way must be found to bypass these greedy bloated record companies.

Insane lawsuits

2000 plus the 18,000 filed by the US, most of these lawsuits are probably against kids and young people 10-25. It's insane that they want to lock people up for this, when real criminals are still out there, murdering, raping and selling drugs,guns,kidnapping kids, alcochol and cigarettes. If the justice department and Bush worked this hard on REAL crimes, American would be a great place to live.
If these people with no crime but downloading go to prison, they will simply come out are hardened criminals and may do even worse things.
