I think this is some good news for everyone, because you should be somewhat concerned/aware of how much Google knows. I mean, they have your emails, they can see what you search, they know where you may be going (Google Earth/Maps), and much more.

Google is no bigger a threat than Yahoo. All companies monitor your activity on their web sites.. if not, then why are hackers getting caught? No policeman has a sensitivity to electrical signals miles away of a hack happening.. every server monitors you.. to protect themselves, and make money.. it's just stupid people who dont read privacy policies and complain about how they didnt understand it saying it collects data on you.

Who cares if google logs what you search for?

Unless you are looking for kiddy porn and how to blow up buildings, you shouldn't worry that a google server logs what you search, or your emails. There isn't a few guys sitting in a room montitoring everything that is being searched, and reading every email that passes through gmail.
