Yahoo, Verizon Web Tie In

Will Verizon have anything unique to offer this time? I signed up with Verizon DSL a month ago and the only effect I saw of its MSN Premium tie-in was a lot of extra MSN bloatware to replicate Outlook Express and Internet Explorer. Content-wise, all I got were more links to the MSN.com web site, which anybody can visit with Internet Explorer.

Now Verizon's going to brag about giving me the ability to visit the same YAHOO.com internet site I've been visiting for 8 years?

These tie-ins may help Verizon by getting somebody else to create and maintain a web site for them, but from a customer's perspective this is not a reason to sign up for Verizon. Verizon needs to do a better job of using these tie-ins to offer something unique to its DSL customers, and make it easy to find.

This is not what I want from my ISP. I'd rather they not raise costs for unnecessary services which will be passed on to me. Just give me SMTP(mail) and NNTP(news) servers and IP services with NO BLOCKED PORTS. Oh, and ending the blockade on email from Europe would be nice, too.
