lol!

It's not our fault, we're Micro$loth and our security is perfect. If
your accounts have been compromised, it's because our
customers are stupid enough to hand out their account
passwords ...

On second thought, now that we've looked into it, it appears that
our help system has done this to you because of bad guys
pretexting us. That's still your fault though, they couldn't have
done it unless you gave them enough personal information.

LOL! Anyone dumb enough to trust M$ deserves what's coming
to them.

Micro$loth is to security as water is to fire.

Oh Please!

Did you even read the article? They never said they were perfect. They never said their customers handed out their passwords. They admit that the problem was procedure at customer service. They admit the audio from customer service was painful to listen to. All I read was these guys taking it on the chin due to bad customer service and bad procedure.

Now, seriously, we both know that folks have been attempting to penetrate the XBox Live network. Can you point to an instance within the past two years where anyone has succeeded? That's a serious question that I would really like an answer to from anybody. I don't know the answer either.
Oh well

It's Microsoft's fault, it has to be because they suck.
On second thought, I won't even read the article, I'll just keep being ignorant and say Microsoft said it's perfect and they suck.
Oh well. Anyone ignorant enough not to read an article and understand what really happened and to state Microsoft ever said they are perfect deserves doesn't deserve much attention.
People like you are to intelligence like water is to fire.
"I DARE YOU"...
by Llib Setag March 27, 2007 5:20 PM PDT
Remember when Citizen Gates was bragging about MS Vista was the most secure computer software being used today & that "I dare you to find anybody that can challenge our security on Vista OS..." during the interview where he was mad about the Mac & PC ads that Apple was airing about Vista security protocols & Windows user experiences with it...?

"I DARE YOU " is starting to rear its' ugly head Citizen Gates...BAD MOVE on your part.

THEN they BLAME the XBox users for being sloppy with their personal info & saying it was NOT Microsoft's fault about the XBOX 360 security breach?

TODAY, eating crow & back pedaling as fast as possible to put just the right PR spin on it...

If you are an illegal monopoly, you do not have to give a s##t about customer service or security.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

It's Not Funny

Everyone wants to blame Microsoft for being a monopoly, and, therefore, responsible for every attack on Windows users that comes along. First, there would be more attacks directed at its competitors, if there competition had greater market shares; that MS competitors do not have the greatest share of the marketplace is their own responsibility. Lixus gives away its OS and it still doesn't own much of a market share. The OS market is CONSUMER-DRIVEN!!!
I feel sorry for the people that got caught in this pretexting scandal; its a shame there are so many crooks trying to rob people who work for a living and don't take anything that doesn't belong to them.
At last, it's not a laughing matter. I don't think it's funny that Microsoft became a victim. Now end users may have to face some unpleasant consequences.

MS technologies, MS people, MS everything is hacked.
by Microsoft_Facts March 27, 2007 6:31 PM PDT
Once again, and again, and again...MS stuff is hacked. Nothing ever changes at Microsoft, security of its products and customers does not matter to them.

Great example...

...of what "hacking" is and always has been, despite popular uninformed opinion otherwise. Hacking is not poorly written software stealing from people, as conventional wisdom so often misconstrues and misrepresents it, hacking is *people* stealing from other people.

The Gates'
by sabbathsupernaut March 28, 2007 2:13 PM PDT
There are security risks in everything we, as consumers, do. Your identity may be stolen or your wallet may be stolen or your car may be stolen. Should I blame Ford for faulty security glass? No. I assume responsibility for my own decision to park it there or not to alarm it, call the police, and know that chances are I'll never see it again. Why is it Microsoft's fault that there are criminals smart enough to find a way into a system when they have all the time they need and plenty of privacy. Still, they do what they can to keep us safe. In this case it appears humans were at fault and MS has owned up to it with a promise to improve on its flaw. Seems like normal business practice to me.

I am a proud owner of a XBOX360 and a PC running Windows XP not only because I enjoy these products but also because of the important humanitarian work being done by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation throughout the world. I feel better knowing that some of the profits from products I've purchased will be put to good use.

There are more important things going on in this world, if only you would pay as much attention to those things as well.

Strong Identity Protection
by wbenton March 29, 2007 7:55 AM PDT
Identity Protecton has been of utmost important for most large corporations for quite some time now.

With the single exception of Microsoft.

And to top it off, they use plausible deniability and try to blame it on the support people. (* ROFLOL *)

This needs to be placed under the funnies section... (* CHUCKLE *)

It has happened to me in March 2008! I have called Customer Service and even wrote the home office and can't even get a phone call back from them! I set the XBox Live account up for my 10 year old grandson with my Visa Debit Card. Some hacker got the information and stole everything out of my bank account within 2 weeks! I am on Social Security and Microsoft could care less. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
