Citibank freeze causes a problem for travelers

Because of this freeze a guy was stranded in Canada without cash. Fortunately the bank only froze the cash withdraws from ATMS. However, the bank should of told him he could do a cash advance at a bank if he has one of those dual branded debit cards. They could of done a wire transfer as well for a fee.

When travelling abroad (or even locally), one should have several options for getting cash. Think about all the "what if"s.

PNC Bank called me today to replace my card, apparantly some "3rd party"'s database got hacked, or at least that's the story they're trying to sell. Haven't seen anything about it in the media yet.
