May be possible someday.

Too good to be true.

I think this article is more about raising venture capital than showing a future technology. In particular I don?t like the way it tries to side-step Einstein?s objections to faster than light information exchange; although some form of quantum entangled message might be sent thus, it would rely on normal light speed limited events before it could be untangled, i.e. no usable information would transfer ?instantly?.
I guarantee if someone Did find a way to achieve faster than light communications, even on paper, it would make the news Big Time.
Disagreeing with Mr. Schneier
by jrweil November 11, 2005 11:52 AM PST
I would have to at least half-disagree with Mr. Schneier. While the encryption protocols in use at the MOMENT may not be the weakest link, if a working quantum computer were to become operational, we would immediately be left naked in a very nasty wind.

I find Mr. Schneier's comment about the total lack of value of quantum networking very short-sighted.

Are there other--immediately larger--problems? Sure. But if we lack quantum networking when quantum computation goes operational, we'd be up an ill-smelling rivlet sans a means of propulsion.

My two cents.
