Just goes to show how twisted the US legal system is. The reason for lockup is to compel testimony, to give the poor sap time to think about it and "make up" his mind. It is very clear that the courts however are using it as a punitive measure to punish someone for not testifying.

In this instance there is no longer a case pending so no testimony is required yet a person remains locked up, deprived of their freedom and liberty. There is no longer a reason to "compel" any information so the only reason for continued incarceration is punitive in nature.

The judge in this case is nothing more than idiot using his powers to punish someone because they refuse to bow to his and the courts authority. The judge needs to be incarcerated and introduced to bubba and his sexual habits.
