Use a fuel-efficient vehicle

The 2005 Saab 9-2X station wagon that the Kims were using has a fuel economy of 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, according to:

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/21016.shtml

The gas tank holds 15.9 gallons. Used Saturn SL sedans commonly get 23+ mpg city and close to 40 mpg on the highway. New hybrid gas/electric vehicles such as the Toyota Prius can be even better. One gallon of fuel saved can mean the difference between life and death.
