I feel so sorry for them... really I do ;] They should be thankful that they even have internet at a reduced bandwidth. If they owed me $700,000 I'd either cut them off completely or um, do as they did and seize some farm lands as a payment!

Good of IntelSat to continue to provide them anything at all. Even if it's not in their best financial interests. (Or perhaps it is in a long-term view.)

The government of this country under Mugabe has destroyed agricultural production. Before Mugabe forced the land redistribution program in 2000, Zimbabwe was a net exporter of agricultural products - corn, cotton, wheat, coffee,... Now their people are starving. The country now has 585% inflation rate. You reap what you sow. Get rid of Mugabe, then maybe the country has a chance.
