Could be useful...

This could be a useful law.

For instance, if sometime after the Democrats take control of Congress, they might make possession of child pornography a felony.

Then, they make it a Federal law that felons can't vote in Federal elections.

Then, "someone" sends out a trojan to everyone who is a registered Republican that redirects them to a child pornography site.

There, that site plants a cookie with an embedded GIF of child porn.

Then, all of the router records at the last gateway prior to that porn site are subpeonaed.

Then, everybody who has accessed that porn site has their computers confiscated and searched for porn.

Then, all 'of 'em get convicted for possessing child pornography, and are now felons who can't vote in Federal elections.

Viola. No more Republicans. No more strange wars, no more screwing regular folks in favor of rich folks and corporations, no more of those sick attack ads on TV.

Life is good again.

Go for it, Gonzales.

ALREADY has in it's TOS that it intends to keep ALL records for TWENTY years???...AFTER an account is closed????

I think it's interesting that these things happen and then we get this c.r.a.p. that it's going to happen ~ don't you?

I think you are mistaking the article... ISPs have always been legally allowed to retain customer data for as long as they want. That hasn't changed, and really isn't the focus of the article. The proposal being discussed is to set a STANDARD for data retention across all ISPs and networking services. In other words... Time Warner would retain the same data, for the same periods as every other ISP.... Of COURSE they are already collecting customer data - you agreed to that when you signed up for service.

I would like to offer up my body for a chip that records all things that everyone does.

Don't worry, the government won't abuse that data!

FOOLS. People should stop procreating anyway. The human race is a failure.

If you are not willing to put your name out there, keep your mouth shut. Nothing wrong, nothing to hide. You shouldn't be looking at naughty photos anyway, what would your mama say !
