In effect just stating "Hey we can fix all our problems with this new fangled technology stuff!" just shows how stupid he is. That is akin to the belief "why give up smoking when by the time I get lung cancer the'll be an easy cure?"
I can't think of any technological system that the Blair government has implemented that hasn't either failed completly, cost millions more than expected, or has taken years longer than expected to be implemented - or a combination of all three.
Blair is very good at making statements that everyone agrees with along the lines of "Poverty is bad we must tackle poverty" or "AIDS is bad we must find a cure" yeah well great why didn't I think of that - Tony Blair is obviously a great and clever man.
Don't be fooled by his empty-headed statements - they lead to nothing.
- Oh yeah? Then use it to stop war!

- If he so gets it, as one of the UNs leader he should not only worry about UK's tech status but use it to foster better communication among the west and the middle east. After all, the Net is all about communication... right?
