- OMG, i cannot believe that this is happening to me. I am a victim of violence toward women and I had this law used against me by my stalker after I was raped and all charges were dropped. Here is what happened, while i was being stalked i reported it to the police department and very little to nothing was done about it whatsoever, they offered to call after he graffitid my workplace and applied repeatedly at my work but nothing was going to make him stop stalking me. After zero investigation of my allegation and continued psychological harassment I began posting a blog about "my stalker" never even used his name. He tracked down my website and reported me saying I was writing about "my stalker" ie him which his name could be verified by my police reports and now I am being investigated for breaking this law. He said since i described him physically and gave a location that he could prove it was him. He left an anonymous note on my front doorstep saying that he knew all about my website and the law and that it was created to protect people like him who are "above the law" to further stalk and cause further interruption to victims lives. It makes absolutely no sense to me. What makes absolutely no sense is I was not posting the website to communicate with him in any manner. I dont understand how just because he cyber-stalked me and found my website that somehow makes him a "receiver". It's my site, the information was not even directed toward him, it was directed toward other people in an attempt to reach out for help to everyone else in the world besides him. All the information provided was factual. I have to be careful because he may find this comment and say im still doing it!! Please explain to me how someone who cyber-stalks by typing in every possible combination of potential interests and keywords just to find a website and then travels to that location solely to view the information provided is a receiver in any way. It makes absolutely zero sense. Its like a stalker hiding right outside my window while im on the phone with my mother recording my conversation about him and then taking it directly to the police saying I am harassing him. Any explanation of how someone who seeks out specific information with the intention of claiming harassment is a "receiver". My understanding of harassment up until i was placed under investigation was someone just living their life in peace and quiet that is forced to receive unwelcome communications of any nature. I guess the new definition of harassment is if someone voluntarily goes way out of their way to track down information and then harass the victim through the legal system.
