Why on earth do these countries think they should have a voice in Internet governence (like there is such a thing) when they censor everyone?!? Censorship goes against everything the Internet stands for.

They are only helping to prove the case that they are unfit to have any say in the intellectual property of the United States of America.

This just proves the point that it would be stupid to give any control to the UN. People choose to forget the majority of the UN is nothing but thugs. I'm not handing anything that would affect my freedom over to them.

And then there's the whole "the net is ours" thing. If they don't want to play they don't have to, but who the hell do they think they are that they can just take it over? Oh gee, I like your car, give it to me!

While I agree opressive regimes don't deserve to have any control over the infrastructure, I think you may be forgetting carnivore, echelon and the patriot act.
US should keep control of the net

The US losing control of the internet to a beaucratic organization could ruin the internet. Not to mention the Chinese government trying to censor content. Read more here...http://domainnamewire.com/2005/10/17/plans-for-global-management-of-the-internet-are-a-threat-to-its-future/
