Perhaps we should consider open-source voting machines instead of the proprietary status-quo from diebold/microsoft?...

Not suggesting open-sourcing the voting itself, just the software and the machines that they are running on...industry has already shown that thousands/millions of sets of eyes working on a project can find failures much easier and more quickly than most proprietary solutions...

Trustworthy voting machines (hardware & software) would be the best place for the Open Source movement to make a significant contribution to our world, unless they understand all too well that the flaws and lack of traceability in electronic voting machines are not a bug, but their most important feature ...
