Apple should buy Kinoma
by Mimsy June 2, 2006 6:24 AM PDT
I think that Apple could give Palm software developers a run for
their money. In addition, Kinoma would fit in with the 'portable
device' part of Apple's business, which will expand to do video
better and may expand to do ebooks.

And, yes, Kinoma can make good software. I used some of it on
my PDAs and was impressed.

Apple should by this, Apple shoud by that. It never ends. A 3-page article talking about a crappy program that doesn't integrate well with XML and other standards, and the first thing that comes to your mind is Apple should buy it? I think Microsoft should buy it.

Apple is not in need

Why? Apple does not seem need to buy any company to further their success.

by xtreme999 June 4, 2006 10:32 PM PDT
Ok a few months ago i bought a used psp in exellent condition from a friend of mine for $50.
The reason i bought it because i had a big collection of movies that i wanted to watch on the go or outside. Then i found out that i had to actually buy $25 umb disk movie to be able to watch movies on this great device.
Of course this is that was not the only time sony had screwed up

Sony's fall started after they became a "media" company.
by JohnMcGrew January 2, 2008 6:47 PM PST
Sony used to be a company that was about innovative and quality hardware. But that all ended when they became a "media" company back in the '80s. Ever since then, it's been all about selling and protecting their movie and music assets. So we no loger get groundbreaking technology like the Betamax and Walkman, and instead get crippled hardware with proprietary formats soley designed to prevent consumers from doing what they want to do. The Sony of today is simply incapable of creating the next video recorder or portable player.
