Another great thing about Webkinz
by IrishBrewer May 10, 2007 1:42 PM PDT
Two of my girls have webkinz and one thing that my wife and I really appreciate about the site is that there is no advertising. I hope this will always be the case because I would probably have my children spend time on other activities if the Webkinz site becomes a way to feed them ads for who knows what.

My girls only have one webkinz pet each and they could care less about the stuffed animal but they love the online games and interactions that they get on the site. They are content with the educational games that allow them to gain points to buy "things" to care for their online pet. Its kind of funny to watch what they do with their money. One of my daugters buys the "cheap food" for their pet and saves up points for things like bigger rooms, back yards, etc.

They can go to the same area (i.e., room) at the same time on different computers and interact with eachother.

Like the author points out, all of the interaction is controlled in a way that it is safe for them to interact without constant adult supervision.

Webkinz is not bad. I have 1 webkin and I am very happy with it. I think the website teaches you the value of money and it also has a place called quizzy's where you can learn math, social studies, language, science, and much much more. I absolutly support webkinz. If you are a concerned parent, just read the parents part on the webkinz home page. I hope this helps you make your choice on wether or not you let your child play. Basically, all I am saying is: LET 'EM PLAY!

The best Webkinz source is www.webkinzisland.com

Webkinz are becoming so popular now - there is even a Webkinz blog & forum at www.kinz-land.com which has literally exploded with popularity over the past few weeks.

Do you think these toys will be the biggest things at Christmas??
