Social Networking Growth Rate Peaked
by Broward Horne October 19, 2007 10:47 AM PDT
Peaked out a year ago. Social networking has entered a consolidation phase, which is why Facebook is now offering a third-party API.

Watch the traffic stats of facebook, myspace, etc. if you want to verify it for yourself.

"special interest social-network sites will continue to play a role" - completely agree - exactly what we are seeing at www.schoolparent.net

Great analysis. I completely agree with Datamonitor about "current growth in social networking offers opportunities for businesses to get involved in supporting the infrastructure needed to run such sites, and it advises technology providers to look for ways to support social-networking services in the areas of scalability and availability"

At http://www.rsitez.com , our main focus during this year has been to provide an infrastructure that allow companies and individuals to create their own social networks without scalability issues. It feels good to see our focus validated.
