Dominate what?
by TV James September 27, 2006 1:52 PM PDT
By even mentioning the long tail, it's acknowledgment that days of tyranany and a lack of choice... sorry, he said domination, didn't he. Anyhow, the days of power in the hands of a select few shoving the content down our throats is over. That's a given.

The only ones who will continue to dominate will be the pseudo-monopolies who control the pipes... cable, phone and their partners in crime.

Maybe he actually needs to read the long tail book. A really good read.

Sorry, gotta add more...

Yesterday the CEO of NBC said something about it being a better buy or a better investment than Google or something.

Who are these people trying to reassure?

Change or die, media dinosaurs.
AOL behind the times

TV James made a great point of AOL being a media dinosaur. Miller's comment that, "We're in fact becoming a nation of multitaskers and 'snackers and shifters' of media consumption," might have impressed me more in 2003 or 04'. This is how people have morphed the web and their web experiences.

These antiquated views show why AOL is lagging behind and isn't the innovative darling of the late 1990s http://www.essentialsecurity.com/news.htm?id=34
