Sirius offerings
by October 7, 2004 9:39 AM PDT
One comment: XM has just recently begun offering online broadcasts of their content, while Sirius has been offering this for quite some time. I have been a subscriber for over a year and online content has been available from Sirius for all of that time.

I was in bestbuy.com today and was told that Sirius allows free streaming from online which XM charges extra for it...
XM has Opie and Anthony NOW, not in 15 months!

XM Satellite radio has the Opie and Anthony show now, not in fifteen months, which is the minimum you would have to wait before hearing Howard Stern on Sirius.

Opie and Anthony!
by djz2279 October 7, 2004 12:16 PM PDT
Opie and Anthony are nothing compared to Howard Stern. Stern has been doing this for years upon years and doing it while taking the market share in almost every city he is airing in. So to compare the two is like comparing Brittney Spears and the late great Nell Carter.

Stern will bring more recognition to satellite radio, more importantly Sirius satellite radio. And he will revolutionize the face of satellite radio in a whole just like he did to regular broadcast radio. Stern you rule and I can't wait to listen to you on Sirius!
Bummer

I originally liked satellite radio because I could leave behind all the foul-mouthed, news-distorting blather coming from unenlightened DJs.

Such a shame that the talking heads are now being advertised as a feature on a pay service.

I'm not saying that I don't like Stern... just that I prefer a music service with ABSOLUTELY NO talking.

I'm with you on this one....

... maybe even more so. Talking is irrelevant (Stern is the
ultimate irrelevance), but I also have my personal preferences for
music selections. So I provide my own music service - my own
MP3 CD's. At 180+ selection per CD, I have my diversities.

Sirius won't get a single dollar from me!!!!!!!!
Sad day...

Sad day when we rate the state of an industry or business by what someone like Howard Stern does. How pathetic!!

Howard Stern has the most interesting show on the FM dial. Many people underestimate his skills as an interviewer. This is just the thing to jumpstart satellite radio.

Awaiting Howard's Arrival!
by October 12, 2004 7:27 AM PDT
My final decision to subscribe to Sirius was solely based on Howard Stern's contract signing with them. People love him, people hate him but the sole fact is, he is doing something right... 20+yrs doesn't "just happen." Even though censored, he has survived so him moving to satellite radio seems to be a win-win-win situation... Stern-Sirius-Subscribers. Even if you hate him, you should be able to understand that!
