It's funny that years ago people would tell me how nice it was that google had very few ads anywhere.

Now they are pushing it like drugs.

Non-intrusive ads

It is there bread and butter and their web ads are non-intrusive and are actually helpful.

If you want to see how Google changes TV

look no farther than the movie Idiocracy and take a look at the wide screen TV set with Google AdSense advertisement around the edges of the screen and a small picture with the actual TV show in the middle.

You can see what the Google AdSense advertising would look like on a wide screen TV set here to get the idea that it will eventually lead to such quality programs as "Ow, my balls!" in about 1000 years or so. :)
